Title: Club Amigo Guardalavaca or BCV or PRDO?
Post by: Shine on November 30, 2006, 04:06:00 PM
Hey folks, I know F&T have been here before, a few times?

This resort is showing up through Signature (which is the Villas) for the week I want to go away in January (originally wanted Punta Cana) but this deal would work out cheaper for us.

(Brisas Guardalavaca is going for $100 more per person, would it be worth it?)

 I'm VERY tempted  ;-)

If you've never been to Holguin, then you just have to try it, at least once, even if just for the weather.

We've never had a bad week in Holguin.

Hopefully our inhouse Chefs Extrordinaire, will be able to give you more insights.

ARRRGGGHHH ... I just don't know !

Reading too much, thinking about where I really should go too much ...

I like the look of the Brisas Guardalavaca for $100 each more but a new promotion by ACV crossed my desk yesterday, NOW throw in Blau Costa Verde to the equation, for an extra $35 each    OR Barcelo Cayo Largo for $85 more/each (although I didn't like the flight schedule to Cayo Largo, I've always wanted to go).

THEN the PRDO (where I really SHOULD go for business purposes) gets back to me with a great land only rate ... but I would need to provide air fare, which I have free seats BUT I'm saving them for April in Punta Cana (when the resorts are promising FREE accomodation).

Sorry for the ramble, no one else understands my dilemna.

Shine,

I would go to Blau Costa Verde, if it were me.  If you have never been to Guardalavaca then this resort is one of the best picks.  Club Amigo doesn't compare to this resort, in my opinion.  I was at Blau in March 06 and this was my 10th trip to Cuba.  We would go back there in a heartbeat.  The food, service, beach and resort on whole is wonderful.  Good luck.

Shine I would have to agree with the Commish!
From what I have heard, about the area, and I have stayed at both the Blau and the PCV, I would for sure stay at the Blau!

Hah, one more resort to the list of wannabes ...
I'm just waiting confirmation back from the Paradisus but it looks like if all goes well today I'll be booking the PRDO   :b:

I'd previously been given an amazing land rate for this resort but couldn't find appropriate airfare without breaking the bank (or just doing a package somewhere else cheaper). I found airfare yesterday for $170+taxes of course so I just await and wait and wait ... I'll keep y'all posted !

:)  Shine:  There is only one thing better than going to PRDO and that is going on a very good deal!  We faced a similar choice in October when we had to decide between Sol Luna, Playa Pesquero, Playa Costa Verde or pay just a bit more and go to PRDO on an excellent deal.  It would otherwise have been out of our price range.  I hope you get some good news soon.
