Title: PLAYA PESQUERO
Post by: flopnfly on April 23, 2005, 11:38:00 PM
I know that the Playa Pesquero is big, over 900 rooms.  Do you really need to get the golf cart to transport you around the resort or is everything pretty close together?

I don't want to have to spend half my vacation in transit.     :)

Well I only used them twice.   Once, on arrival, to transport my luggage and myself to my room and on the second occasion because I was running a little late for dinner over at La Gondola restaurant, which was probably a good 10 - 15 minute walk from my room.

Personally I preferred to walk everywhere and would leave the golf carts for arriving guests to use and also those who had walking difficulties.

It was customary to tip the driver one peso so if you were in the habit of using them quite frequently it could soon mount up.

Thanks,
Last year at Tryp they had the golf carts going around too, but we only used when we first arrived.  After that we walked.  Tryp only had 500 rooms but it was really spread out.

Everything at the Playa Pesquero, execept the rooms, and one of the a la cartes, are pretty much central to the resort.  Even if you were way out at one of the ends of the resort, it still wouldn't be an impossible walk (depending only on the number of mojito's one has consumed)

... and whether you're wearing new shoes.

Seriously, when we were there in March I had 3 pair of new shoes.  I left them all there because I was so sick of them by the time I left.

Come to think of it I wore out a pair of shoes whilst I was there also.

I offered them to a member of staff, but he said they were in a far worse condition than his so he politely refused them.

Yes I sure did some walking at that Playa Pesquero!!!

I submitted my Trip Report with photos yesterday of the Playa Pesquero and I see it is now online on this site.

If you want to view it click on Trip Reports at the top of this page , select Cuba, and then Playa Pesquero or follow this link:
