Hi Garin,

 pick up one of these plug-in insecticide dispensers for the room from Boots;

  http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1034462 (http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1034462)

these work great, and some of the hotel rooms have insect problems...wish we could get this product in Canada.

 cheers

Garin,

Forgive my ignorance but what are "smellies" ?
And also what do you use brewers yeast for (other than making beer, lol)?
Trying to pick up new tips here  :)

We always take a flashlight and spare batteries for those annoying power failures at the resort. We also take a travel umbrella- only needed to use it twice though.

I always take some Aloe, it's great if you get too much sun, and it's a great moisturizer.

Afterbite is good for rubbing on bites, it takes the itch out.

If you can get hold of some Tiger Balm, you don't have to take loads of other stuff, found it when I lived in Singapore, now most health shops sell it over here,

 headache, rub some on temples
 bites - rub on bite
 backache - rub painful area.
Cold - rub on chest  ;)

It smells abit like eucaliptus - so I always rub a little on wrists before going out in the evening, Ive never been bitten yet.

Comes in two strengths - beware if you manage to get hold of the red extra strong as it can dye fabric.  Ive sworn by this stuff for years.

We've had Tiger Balm in our medicine cabinet for years. You can buy it in any drugstore.  I've never thought of trying it as mosquito repellant.  I'll try it this summer.  Thanks for the tip.

Don't forget waterless hand sanatizer. Keeps hands clean when you are out and about.
