 A friend just returned from Cayo Coco and she was receiving 74 CUC per 100 cdn $.

I remember exchanging my money at the front desk in Cuba this April and just feeling as ripped off as I did a few years back when I'd exchange my money for US$.   :mad:

I agree CriCri, in fact it's the money situation that is making me think twice about going to Cuba this time.

The worse thing is that there was no "market" reason for the decrease in value of the Canadian and US dollar.  In other words, the peso is not even pegged to another currency. Castro needs our tourist dollars but it seems he is also willing to kill the golden goose.
