Title: Underwater photos at Sol, Cayo Santa Maria
Post by: bellagio on May 24, 2005, 09:58:00 PM
Heather thought it would be a good idea to link these fantastic photos into this site and  Warren (Wossa) has given his permission.

Warren was the guy who picked me up from my son's house in St. Albans and drove me down to the airport.

He was staying at the Sol, Cayo Santa Maria, next door to me.  I'm sure when you have viewed his photos you will think , as I did, they are truly incredible. This is what Wossa has to say:

 Hello All

Flopnfly, no problems if you would like to link them to 7 days, I would be nice to share them with as many people as possible. The pictures were taken with just a normal digital camera (Sony DSC P9 to be exact), nothing flash at all, obviously in a water housing.

The depth varied, although none of the dives I completed were deep, maximum depth was 26 meters, although the majority of these pictures were taken between 10 - 15m.

 Kind regards
 Wossa

Heather:

They truly are remarkable photos - they look so professional.  I just couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw them.

I just hope that EVERYONE looks at them, they will be truly amazed.

It has to be said though that Warren is no amateur diver - he is a dive master in his own right, so he knows exactly what he is doing.

I do hope Gambitt logs on looks at them as I sure he would appreciate them.

Oh my goodness, they are beautiful ... I'd be sending them to the resort and telling them to use them in their brochures ... amazing job, Warren !

My first posting on 7 days in paradise!

Just wanted to say, thanks for the kind feedback I have received from displaying my pictures.

Flopnfly, if you could let me know how I can upload pictures to your gallery I would be happy too, also add my diving review to your diving section.

I agree, Wossa. They are gorgeous.

We take photos with one of those disposable underwater cameras, and they are not bad - at least they help remember. But seeing these, I am wondering if it's time to go digital.

I will look at them often and dream of Cuba.

 Thanks for brightening my day.

I've sent you a PM regarding your photos and review.

We would love to see more of your diving photo's and reviews if you have them.

They are fun to look at even for the non divers among us.

Warren, your pics are so very beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us.
My daughter and I just came back from cuba and did the beginner dive - it was awesome and we don't even get to go deep, so I can't begin to imagine how amazing diving is at deeper depths.

 Thanks again for sharing!

Gorgeous pictures!  I can't get over how clear and beautiful they are.  The colours are so vibrant!

We too used a regular underwater camera and I wasn't happy with how our pictures turned out.  I think it's worth paying the extra for the digital camera next time!

Thanks for sharing those with us!

MrsP:

Well if you will let the good Pastor buy your snorkelling equipment (and probably your camera too) from Crappy Tire what do you expect!!!

Also Warren is not just an ordinary diver - he is a divemaster in his own right, and went to Cuba hoping to dive twice a day for the two weeks.

Unfortunately he was not able to do this because after the first 3 days, some Italians had prebooked the boat for the next seven days, so he missed out there.   After that the red flag was flying pretty well every other day so the boat wouldn't put to sea.   I believe he only managed two more dives after that.
