On this wet, miserable Saturday morning I did my routine check on the holiday websites (a la mojitomiss_cuba) only to find prices on the rise again.
The PCV for November 4th ex Manchester which was £690 per person two days ago, then £715 yesterday was up to £790 per person today. No single price available apart from the Gatwick flight on November 2nd when they wanted £940.
I checked out Thomas Cook - no joy there until I checked for holidays over 14 days and there I found this little gem which I booked online there and then.

£599 (around $1250 CAD) for 15 nights at the Playa Pesquero. Believe you me I am so ELATED, I'M OVER THE MOON
I'm sorry it might not fit in with other people's plans, but this offer is just too good to be true as I'm sure you all must agree.
It's the changeover period between summer and winter flights that's why it's so cheap. I guess it will be Excel Airways outbound and Thomas Cook inbound.
At least I'll be able to meet up with Huskypup as she arrives at the PP on November 2nd I believe.
Well I've made my commitment now - October 26th to November 10th at the Playa Pesquero.
Back from Canada on Sunday October 16th then off to Cuba on Wednesday October 26th.
Does life get any better than that!!!!

Good for you Mr B. I was reading the travel section of the Toronto Star this morning and trying to interest DH in spending New Year's in Cuba which I think would be a blast...

Have just been back on Thomas Cook's website and the holiday is not available now for a single traveller. Even the price for two is up to £639 per person.
I think the price reduction only came into force this morning because when I posted on the 'November to Remember' thread yesterday I said:
'I can now book the PP with Thomas Cook but not at £1037 I'm afraid'.
I knew at £599 I was looking a gift horse in the mouth. I haven't been this excited since the birth of my first born back in 1968.
I'm ringing up everyone I know. I just can't believe how excited I am.
I finally have managed the deal of the millennium!!!

The price is so unbelievable. After months spent monitoring prices, it feels like I've hit the jackpot.
I still can't believe it's true. There must be a catch somewhere? Have I done something wrong when booking? I have checked and double checked and everything is fine, but I just still feel as though something is wrong somewhere as the price is sooooooooo cheap.

Well I know that I'm good for any week except for the week of Nov. 5 (that's exam week for BIT) so yes, I am still closely watching weeks of:
Oct 15, 22, 29 and Nov 12. November had better start coming down, or I will be doing October aint so sober lol
Seeing Mr. b's wonderful deal makes me kick myself for not grabbing that sunquest deal of the day a couple of weeks ago for the PCV (498 +)

My eyes fell out of my head when I saw that deal this morning, it was just to good to refuse.
Neither the PP or the PCV can be booked as a single now. This morning when I booked there was no single supplement on the PP, but there was on the PCV making it £80 more expensive than the PP.
Prices for now are PCV £625 and PP £639 but it has to be for two people.
It is still cheap, but I'm so glad I acted early because I would be kicking myself now had I not booked when I did.
It would be simply fantastic if you and the BIT could make it to either the PP or the PCV during my stay and Heather and John too.
I'll see what F&T have to say when they come online. I will be great if they can fit it in also.
Someone had to move first and that ridiculous price just forced my hand.
I still am on a high, eight hours later.

Well I'm still watching and waiting but I can't wait too long. If I go on Nov. 12, I have to switch vacation weeks with one of my coworkers. She had already booked that week off but told me she would switch it to another week if I needed it (she's such a sweetheart), but I cannot wait to long, that's not fair to her.

I won't be able to join you at that time. It's just impossible for me to get those weeks off work.
I would truly love to return to PP again, and especially with everyone there.
Right now the PP is pricing over $100 less than we paid in May.
Wendy, if you get the chance to go to PP GO!! You won't be disappointed, trust me. I was a little worried at first because of the size, but everything is within easy walking distance. It's very well laid out. The only thing out of the way are the a la carte restaurants, and you really only go to those at night and you can hitch a ride on the golf carts.
Out of all the resorts we have been to, this is the only one I would return to. That has to say something.

I just converted Bellagio's deal for PP from Pounds into Canadian and that is about $1300/2weeks. The cheapest I could find PP out of Halifax in April was $2035/2 weeks. Very nice!

We may be able to depart TO on Nov. 5/6 but unfortunately not Oct. 30!!! We will enjoy talking about it on your visit.BUT we have some news.....Tracie's folks are going to celebrate their 50th next summer and are taking us on a cruise from NewYork to Bermuda for a week...The only thing is her sisters are coming (just kidding) and the only thing we have to cover is our bar tab...Which will be substantial, I assure you!!! :D :D Sooo will be looking for info on Bermuda!!!

I assume you are flying Thomas Cook. Your outbound flight is via Varadero I imagine, whilst mine, being the final summer flight, is direct.

You were quite right; at that price I just had to book it - it's just a gift. With prices on the rise almost daily I just had to grab it first thing this morning before 10am - two hours later the single option was not available.
I know that you will be booking late and we'll be able to discuss all this when I see you both.
You sure will have to save your pennies for the Bermuda Cruise, the booze on board doesn't come cheap.

Well done Bellagio what a steal. I know exactly how you feel as I got a bargain last December for the Casa Del Mar in Dom Rep. I was sure when we got there we would be stuck in an annexe at the back somewhere!! Turns out we had the best sea view ever, plus the sunset right in front of our room.
No bargains this year round but I was still skipping around when I booked because I got the hotel that I so desperately wanted. It was a bit awkward to book as one day it would be on website the next day not. In the end I was just happy to book at a REASONABLE price and not take the risk of waiting.
Your result, however, is AWESOME.

It is a funny old world, you are correct we are flying via Varadero, and a welcoming drink would be appreciated.
Can't wait now, just told Richard about your deal, he was amazed you can't turn down a bargain like that - Ive noted for next year though, try booking over the changeover week - possible bargains.
