While we were at PCV one night the couple next door had a huge fight at 0330 . Doors slamming , screaming, lots of swearing. This carried on for almost 30 minutes. I finally had put some clothes on to tell them to be quiet when another gentleman had come out of his room and told them he was going to phone security. They eventually shut up. The next day there was paint chips on the ground and behold a do not disturb sign on the door all day. If it was you what would you have done

Well, I guess reporting it to the front desk and ask to be moved..and also make it know your concerned and they should be checked on to make sure all are okay...
Maybe a knock on there door to show concerned so they know how much noise they made and how they made others feel..
:s:

Remove the do not disturb sign and knock on the door until they answered. Say you got the room number wrong and apologize for bothering them and then have someone else do the same 30 minutes later. And again. And again....
Oh... Sorry to have bothered you. Which room were you in?
Bigjohn.

Where you looking for how to get them back...?
:s:
-
Not looking to get them back Just very upset and I felt like they ruined my sleep I should have ruined theirs. I don't know if I should have said something to them about being so immature. These kids were about 21 and they definitely had way to much to drink
-
Was their a fire hose available??? :rof: :rof: :rof:
-
Oh yeah, you needed to get back at them. There is hardly anything more sacred than sleep imho. Knocking on their door several times during the early morning hours would have been appropriate. Perhaps they had terrible hangovers-- that also would be their just desserts.

I would have had no hesitation in contacting the front desk and asking them:
(a) To telephone the room and ask them to keep quiet as they were disturbing other guests or
(b) Send the security round to quieten them down.
I would always refrain from getting involved myself.
-
I would have contacted the front desk and asked them to do something about it. No insisted that they do something about it!!!
I agree with Bellagio, I wouldn't want to get involved myself. You never know what kind of freaks they are.
It's one thing to intervene with your neighbours at home that you know, but not complete strangers.
-
Well if it's payback you want;
:rof:

That is awful! I would absolutely contacted the front desk. No, I would have made my husband call the front desk. Depending on the action taken (or not) by the front desk, I might ask for a room change.

I absolutely agree with you MarieMaya. Who knows if this would have gone on all week. Whenever there's a "domestic" you want to get in touch with security. I would never get involved in that.

Why should pegger have to be disturbed by changing rooms in the middle of his/her holdiay??? I would have called the front desk and asked them to remove the druken duo from THEIR room. Why should their horrible behaviour cost other people their precious vacation time in packing and moving rooms? I would not become involved personally, I did that once years ago for my best friend and it jumped up and bit me in the a** when the dust had settled.
-
As you know it's hard to make them do anything...but removing yourself maybe the best for YOU...not that it's what you should have to do ;)

Darn Gambitt..... didn't they have to call security at the Chelsea because of our after Cuba Night Party.
Ooooops!!!

Wasn't that at CN2?
You too were making too much noise on the balcony I believe!!!!
Or was it Iriemon and Mojitomiss???
-
You're right Coldgirl, I shouldn't have to move if I am the one being inconvenienced. However, on a limited timeframe such as a holiday in Cuba, my patience to put up with idiots like Pegger's neighbours is even more limited. They certainly don't care if they are disturbing anybody! If management is willing to move me, I would sooner invest the hour needed to pack, move and unpack than risk any more sleepless nights listening to the domestic dispute next door. Life is too short to put up with garbage like that. To each their own!

Unfortunately I had just moved to that room from being on the first floor and had changed with someone that had a disability that they had put on the 2nd floor. I wrote a letter to customer relations as to beefing up the security as we heard several complaints from other people about the amount of loud partying going on all over the hotel. There was a lot of younger people this time. Younger I mean 18-21 :D

Pegger, unfortunately I believe you were vacationing right in the middle of college and university spring breaks arrrggghhh.
Usually the "kids" go to varadero (if they go to cuba that is), but I remember seeing some posts on trip advisor from some kids looking for other spring breakers on the Holguin forum.
Sounds like you got hit with a bunch of them, bummer :(
When we were there in May, there were people of all ages and were partying definitely, but not to the "spring break" extent ;)

When we were in Mexico in 2004, we were awakened around 2 a.m. by neighbours that seemed to forget that others were sleeping. I looked out our peephole to make sure who was making the noise. When things settled down I fell back asleep. Bright and early the next morning, actually before bright, around 6 a.m. I picked up the phone and "accidently" got a wrong number. ooops :D
-
In light of what happened to the Toronto couple in the Mayan Riveria, I think I would have called the front desk and insisted on security checking things out. Although I do like the idea of the wrong number as well ;-)

Well, if Irie had known of someones passion for Stevie Y, then Steve and I would not have to make a mad dash for the balcony, to be out of Mojitomiss's line-of fire...

Not having a cd player and a Lenorard Cohen cd handy I would have put he TV speaker next to the wall and go for a long breakfast

The wrong number thing is a favourite of my husbands. We quite frequently get a room above us who love to move furniture around. I don't know how some people make so much noise when there's quite often only one or two chairs that you could drag around. Its usually a 6 a.m. hobby, so working on the assumption that they go to bed early, if we happen to have a late night he'll give a quick call just to get his own back. Or altenatively late night partiers get an early morning call (we have only had this problem once). I always tell him off, so I'm glad to hear he's not the only one taking his revenge.
