Heading to the Blau Costa Verde on Tuesday (Feb 21)... wondered if people called home throughout their week and how they found the services (price, ease of using) .... any advice would be appreciated.

Well there was a group that just returned from there, after they wake up I'm sure they will be able to answer your questions :)

luvnalberta is there right now, due to return home on the 23rd. You should overlap by a couple of days.
Here is the link to some of the photos of the Blau.

Hi Pouchman. We didn't call home this time nor use the internet because the kids were with us.
Usually, if messybill and I are in Cuba without the kids (twice, third time coming up) we talk to them on MSN.
We do this now because a couple of years ago when we were at PRDO, we ran up a $250 phone bill -- it didn't take long.

Hi there, we were in Holguin area (Playa Covarrubias)last January (05) and three of us each called home once, only for a couple of minutes. Our bill was 12 cuc's so it cost us approx. $4 cuc's each. Our internet was really expensive for the time you get (8 cuc's for 1/2 an hour) and it was really slow as well, something you don't always know before you fork over your $. But if you can at least get access to your hotmail account, you can email a few people in that time.
Have fun!

pouchman, you leave tomorrow. :6:
Did you get answers to all your questions? Phoning home can be expensive but when you've got kids at home sometimes you just need to talk to them. Put aside some money to cover the calls and don't worry about it.
have a great time and let us know how it went when you return.
