After much dithering, I have eventually booked to go to Cuba. Playa Pesquero on 6th May.
Prices didn't seem to be going down and as I wanted this particular hotel I thought it best to book. Through my own telephone travel agent I managed to beat the internet prices. So I've got a good deal. Prices may drop but I had my heart set on Playa Pesquero. Bellagio's photos sold it to me.
So this is my "I've booked my holiday, happy day". Its a lovely feeling. Already been out and bought some suntan lotion today!!
Plenty of questions to ask as this is my first time.

Congrats, You'll have a great time. I haven't been to Playa P, but a co-worker was there last year and loved it.

Good for you! Yes, it's a good feeling to have chosen a resort and booked! I hope you have a great trip....

Congratulations JJay - I actually thought that you had booked it quite a while back.
I'll be arriving back into Gatwick on Friday May 5th so I will miss you by one day!!!
No doubt I'll be popping into the PP during my visit to the PCV so I'll warn the staff to expect you. LOL

I assume you will be flying First Choice from Manchester.
I hope so as they are much superior to Thomas Cook.
-
Yes flying First Choice. Much more legroom. Thats the reason I hadn't booked earlier as I could get it alot cheaper going on the 8th with Airtours but theres was a Monarch flight, and I've heard dreadful things about them. The First Choice price never reduced and then there was no availability on the Eclipse site for Playa Pesquero so I thought I had better book rather than chance waiting any longer.
Sorry to hear that I am missing you by a day. Would have been nice to meet up with you, you could have initiated me into the mojito drinking club. Never had one before.

I've just checked both Eclipse and First Choice for the PP on that date and nothing shows on either site.
I booked my March 24th PCV holiday on 21st February and the price has not altered since and there is still availabilty.

I know this is what panicked me into booking. One day it was there and the next it wasn't available on either site but Thefirstresort.com still had it showing. I rang them up and the best price they could do was £850. Not quite sure where my travel agent found it but she knocked an extra £20 per person off, so not a bad deal in the end £830. Could have gone for £806 on the Monday but preferred a Saturday flight and the extra legroom with First Choice. Which is laughable really as I'm only 5 foot tall but even I feel cramped on planes!!!!

That is a quite reasonable price for the PP I agree.
With two holidays already booked ahead I'm waiting a little before considering booking any more.
It would take an absolute bargain to get me to travel in June.

Hi. Coldgirl:
Haven't forgotten about that don't worry.
I'm going to wait until I return from my two Cuba trips though before planning any further vacations.
Right now after all this snow and cold weather I'm experiencing in Alberta I just need to concentrate on warm sunshine and Cuba.

I hear ya Bellagio, I am leaving in five days and it can't come soon enough. My kids, and therefore me, have had a rough couple of weeks and I am looking forward to a rest. I just wish I was taking them with me because I think they need it more than I do.
