Title: Extra weight allowance with Skyservice!
Post by: FredTracie on October 23, 2006, 05:54:00 PM
Tracie and I are leaving for Cuba on Sunday and Skyservice have allowed us an extra 20kg each for Humanitarian aid. We have received suitcases from Dr Taylor (NJT) and local companies (Binney Smith, Crayola) our local doctors dropped off a huge box of meds at the house!
We were under the impression that the max. weight per bag was 20kg so with different sizes of bags we have been trying to keep each bag at 20kg!!
Finally I phoned George at Skyservice and he set the record straight... We can check a total of 80kg for both of us. (one bag can be 25kg and the other 15kg)! Just make sure you check in together!
Now we are able to take clothes with us!   :D    :D

       Kudos to George and Skyservice!
Each flight has a 50kg allowance for Humanitarian aid and you can request as much as you want, if available! 1-888-571-0094

Wish that was the case over here.  Only once have I ever managed to get a free increase in luggage allowance and that was on the Excel flight to Santa Clara where I was granted an extra 5 kilos.

See you on Sunday evening at the Luna.  Still have no news of my car.   Expect I will now be at the mercy of what price they want to charge me on Thursday.   You can bet it will be more than the 28 + 10 pesos insurance I was provisionally quoted when I was at the Gaviota Car Rental desk at the PCV in early October.

If it is, I'll go back to booking it online at the airport on arrival when I know exactly what the charges are and it's usually cheaper.

F&T -

Thanks for clearing that up for us.  Andy and I are forever packing and unpacking to make bags managable and under the weight allowance.  You are still allowed to take 14kg carry on, right?  On top of the checked bags.

 I wish I was going with you guys.    :w:    :w:    :w:

Extra Baggage is great..

When I flew Air Canada in May to Cozumel I was allowed a total of 172lbs for one person (Executive Class)...
