Ok, so I got your attention!
Hello All:
First of all I have to say I really enjoy reading all the chatter on this web-site. All you regulars are great!!
It is quite obvious that this is a forum for Cuba lovers and it would be safe to say that Canadians have become somewhat of experts on Cuba. I understand that over 2 Million of us travel to Cuba each year.
I would say that the Canadian perspective on this piece of paradise is unique, we would like to see it preserved (post Castro). Unlike the Americans, Canadians have a better understanding of Cuban Culture, I think that we generally comprehend that Castro has tried to do his best for the Cuban people under very difficult circumstances.
Should Cuba be Annexed? I would vote YES!!, This would be a win-win relationship. Just imagine the possibilities, the Canadian Entrepreneurial sprit and ingenuity combined with Cuban spirit and smarts. Heck, we are a Multi-Cultural society, the infusion of a little Salsa would be a great addition to the melting pot.
Without getting too political, suffice it to say that the Brits and Yanks staked their claim on the Caribbean centuries ago, its time for Canada to make its move. In typical Canadian fashion, this can be all done very diplomatically.
So whose with me?? Shall we lobby both sides?
Just a thought.
:welcome:

What a great idea Avidtraveller!!! :)
I like the way you think.
Canada tried to annex Turks and Caicos which would have been fantastic, but that is pretty much dead in the water now, so why not Cuba instead??
Cuba is much more convenient for us Canadians to travel to, and we wouldn't have to worry about a passport.

I think that's a great idea. Canada already has one "nation within a nation", so one more is definately not going to hurt. ;)

I'm a few days late logging into this chat but I am with you guys, 101%. If I were allowed to live and run a business in Cuba.....I'd long gone, and fast.
