http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp (http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp)

when you get to the page, click on "BEGIN DOWNLOAD" and then follow the prompts. it will offer a choice in installation types, a Typical installation will be fine. You'll have to reboot when you're finished.

I'm not sure if that worked or not.
