Title: WE'RE BOOKED !!!!

Booked our airfare (online with AA, thanks folks) for COSTA RICA !
 
 We leave early morning October 7th (our 5th Wedding Anniversary) and return VERY LATE evening October 16th).
 
 Going to be so unusual for me, Mrs. AI ... DH doesn't think I'll be able to get everything I want to bring into a backpack.
 
 Also, the excitement of not knowing the area, not knowing where we're going, what we're doing, what we're drinking/eating ... all new to me but exciting all the same.

Well down Shine.  Glad you've gone ahead and booked it.
 
 One small point though - what  ARE you doing for accommodation.  Surely you will be pre booking it?

NOPE ... no pre-booking, we're just going on an adventure with backpacks, we'll probably rent a Jeep for the whole time we're there but no booked accomodations. We will have our handy dandy guidebook and have picked up quite a few tips from Trip Advisor forums and such. Kinda like the excitement and not-knowing aspect of it all.

Sounds like a great adventure.  My son backpacked for 2 months in Scandanavian countries and yes you can get everything in a backpack!!  He did 3 weeks in Peru and got everything plus gifts and had room to spare.  I can't imagine it.  He stays in Hostels and most are more than adequate.  He almost has me interested in doing a "short" trip that way.  You will see so much and it will be what you want to see.  Have a great trip.

Milli is right, that sure will be some adventure.
 
 This will be the trip of a lifetime.   You must keep a journal as we'll want a full report, complete with pics, of this trip.
 
 You both must be sooooooo excited.

Well, you already know how envious I am. You will have a great time. We would go back with no second thoughts if funds allowed. Meanwhile I can relive it through your eyes - look forward to all the piccies.

Shine, I think your trip sounds so exciting. A little nerve-wracking perhaps, but exciting none-the-less

 Let me know how you manage to pack everything in a knapsack for a week. Sunluvr, do you think you and I could manage to do that?  :rof:

 Its a place my DH and I would love to go to.
 
 Bellagio is right you must keep a Journal and let us know all about it.
