The National Hurricane Center Tropical Prediction Center of the NOAA has finally released the composite hurricane chart showing the actual course tracks of all hurricanes in 2005. The chart of the Atlantic Basin Hurricane season makes interesting viewing.
Here's the link to the full chart.

Here's a cropped view of the area of Cuba showing that only 2 storms actually touched Cuba last year, though there were several near misses.

You can clearly see the track of Hurricane Dennis across Cuba on July 7, 8 and 9. (diagonal red line) and also where Hurricane Stan just brushed the western tip of Cuba on Oct 2, 3, and 4. (yellow line)
You can also see the number of storms that hit the Central American coastline, notably Cancun and Yucatan in Mexico. I think Cuba was fortunate.

You can't even SEE the island of Cozumel for all the lines! They must have done a Massive rebuilding job!

Missed this, nice chart, shows how volatile the region is over a long period of time.
