I think Air Transat found out the commoners were booking the Royal HIdeaway at the low price of $646.00.
As usual, I checked prices last night to see if they had changed ( usually they go down) and got a shock to see the week we booked the Hideaway, October 21 , is now $1035.00 each!! plus tax....
Holy cow!
Does anyone have any idea why such a drastic rise?
The week after shows 800.00 something...
I cannot believe it rose that high..now I am afraid they will find out about us! We don't have any money and we aren't, as Marty says, "chi chi people!)...!!

Hi Karen , I have been watching prices many times
a day every day , I was going to book Oct 21st at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria , yeaterday afternoon I checked prices  they went up to $878 (no way I'm gonna pay that) from $464 on some sites it was just sold out ! So I called my TA right away, he looked into it and it was sold out not sure if it was the Melia or the whole plane, got off the phone , just then Dave came home we got to thinking , since it did not matter what week we went and I wanted to go no where but there we booked the Melia for Oct 14th for $429 total with tax for Dave and I $1260, wow I paid that for one of us on previous vacations !
Have a wonderful vacation Karen!

I too have been monitoring the Royal Hideaway. Karen, I also noticed the price went up from Mtl for Oct. 21st and down for Oct.28th. But for the 28th, it says (on several discount websites) that it's for 6 days only.
Hope you have a great time and can't wait to hear your thoughts on this resort. We are not chi chi people either lol.

That is very weird. I was raving about this resort to a friend this morning and told him how cheap it was (I actually looked at the prices first thing this morning and it was still cheap!)
The Melia CSM almost double as well (it was 429+ first thing this morning)
Woo Hoo for Kharmar! You guys scored a great deal.

Karen, Congrats to you and Marty for getting in just under the wire before they decided to try to keep the riffraff out. I guess that means I'll never be able to get to Ensenachos!
Although I was surprised to see an ad for Air Transat in today's paper with a price of $999 for departures up until mid-December. That's still a great price for that resort and I wasn't expecting it to still be under $1000 until that time of year.

Same thing happened to me in April, I booked the PCV in Feb for my April travel at a very low price, and booked in fact because I thought maybe they had made an error, and every time they phoned to tell me of a time change (which was several due to the time change week), I was afraid they were going to laugh at me and ask me, "did you think we were serious?"!
LOL
They never did and I went and enjoyed myself!

now it shows the first week of November at 775.00 plus tax!
This is puzzling...and there is a december selloff price of 800 something..
I guess we will find out when we get there whats up!
I do hope the hotel isn't full, I like the idea of lots of privacy and peace.

flynnsky, I get that email too and the email said it was a one day special that had to be booked by midnight Oct 3
I haven't looked at pricing today but I imagine it went up again :(

YTT has it this morning for the weeks of Dec. 1st, 8th and 15th for 775.90 + taxes from Toronto, so cheaper than the 798. deal. I had a peak for fun at the price for Dec. 22nd and it was 2014.59 + taxes, WOW.

It's almost like they spin a wheel , and pick a price!
It's amazing.
I am glad I am on this side of things, and not being sorry I didn't book already!

Boy, I'm happy I didn't wait any longer ! I booked Monday afternoon at $429.00 now it is $602.00 :)
In 2003 I waited too long to book last min to Cozumel, and it ended up selling out, boy was I ticked off, we ended up in Punta Cana and the next year we went to Cozumel !

wtg, zombie!

I'm going Oct 14th to Melia Cayo Santa Maria. I was almost on your flight , I was going to book for Oct 21st, but it went from $464 to $862.
No way I was going to pay that, so it really did not matter what week we went so we book the Oct 14th , and it turned out to be $429 ! One less week to wait !
Have a wonderful vacation :ham:

Enjoy your vacation a week ahead of mine then ! :)
I dont mind waiting, I love the anticipation too.
If this deal for the Hideaway wasnt so good, we would have liked to do Cayo Santa Maria...
another time...
Gotta love selloffs....!

Still no email or calls telling us it's all been a big mistake, and they undercharged us! and we don't meet their "refined guests" policy..
a few more days and we will be there....
YAY!
Marty is ecstatic, I booked him a pedicure for Friday night...at least his feet will pass the refined test! LOL
Karen :)

what do you mean their "refined guests policy" ??
Even if you don't receive a reply, you will be well taken care of when you arrive. don't worry.
Send them an email telling them that you're looking forward to "7 Days in Paradise" that's what we did and they assured us that was what we would get, and we did. :D
