I've been to Cuba 5 times:
Varadero
Beaches - in August (very hot and humid)
Tryp Peninsula - in November (pools were cold but ocean was warm)
Cayo Guillermo
Sol Cayo Guillermo - in April (weather and water were hot)
Holguin
Playa Pesquero - in May (weather and water were hot)
Cayo Ensenachos
Royal Hideaway Ensenachos - in September (weather and water were hot)

We're at 4
PCV, wich ended up being the PP, for the whole week, but got to "visit" the PCV.
PCV, 2 weeks, but the 2nd ended up at the GP Turquesa (total 4 days at pcv)
PCV, actually got to stay there! ( *clap* )
and the Sol Luna y Mares!

I have found that I like going mid spring and late fall ~ it seems to make winter more bearable!

Tracie and I have just returned from our 12th Cuban adventure.
We have been to :
Holguin..Club Amigo- 3 times, Las Brisas- 1, Sol Luna y Mares-2 (and walked in for a lovely dinner at PRDO).
Varadero.. Brisas Del Caribe- 1, Palma Real- 1
Jibacoa.. Super Clubs Breezes Jibacoa-2 (enjoyed the grand opening night at Martino's..Mmmm )
Santa Clara.. Melia Cayo Santa Maria- 1
Cayo Coco.. El Senador- 1 (several trips to the Dominican, El Salvador (awesome) and a cruise to Bermuda tossed in!)
Every destination/resort has it's own flavour, but we feel it may be time to give Cuba a rest??? Or going to a different location or Casa type experience?? We would return to Jibacoa as it is a little piece of paradise!!

PCV, Holguin - May 2005, weather and water (pool and ocean) hot, hot, hot
Sol Cayo Santa Maria - Nov 2005, ocean warm, pool cold, nights cool
Sol Cayo Guillermo - April 2006 = this was just about as perfect as weather can get on vacation. Pool and ocean temps beautiful, air temp gorgeous (no humidity) evenings great
PCV, Holguin - June 2007, weather and water temps hot. I didn't find it as humid as I did in May 2 years previous but from what I understand that spring (2005) was exceptionally hot/humid. But the mozzies were killers in June. It probably doesn't help that the week prior to our trip, they had rain every day and we all know the little buggers just breed like crazy in that weather.

Twice BCV May 05 and the PCV April 07, all being well we will get the hatrick around May 09, I have got some CUC stashed with my passport that are not impressed with the British weather and can't wait to go home :sunny:

Michelle and I have been to Cuba twice befor, but I think we win for the first to go there, unless one of Char's 25 was befor that !

Wow, what was it like in 1993?

Back in 93 the tourist industry was just getting started. The food wasn't that good, all they had to cook with was coconut oil so everthing tast the same. The resort was tiny one pool and three guest buildings. It was still a very good time, we took a bus tour of Santiago and they showed all the historic revolution sites. But I guess the best thing of all was that the rum was great even back then, and I brought home a 60 of Russian Vodka that I payed $4.50us for! Weather was great and the people where very friendly.

And, planning on Caracol again in April, although I keep telling myself that someday, I really need to see Santiago, Trinidad and Cayo Largo!

Twice, so far: Sol Luna y Mares and Club Cojimar (Cayo Coco)
Next probable trip will be 2 weeks in 2010 to celebrate DH's retirement - and then a couple of 2 week trips a year for as long as we can. We met 80+ year olds at both these resorts so were hopeful. (The couple at Cojimar were on their 7th trip to that resort that year and they had been visiting the place for years before.)
