The society's top South American trains are the Andean Explorer and Hiram Bingham, both in Peru.
European trains that made the cut include the Danube Express (central Europe, Turkey), Al Andalus Express (Spain), Venice Simplon-Orient-Express (Europe), Glacier Express (Switzerland) and the Royal Scotsman (Scotland).
Two trains in Africa - both in South Africa - were also among the top 25: the Blue Train and Pride of Africa (Rovos Rail).
