Hi, I've hit a snag. I wanted to post 2 pics in response to Garin's post "Don't laugh" to show him what real snow looks like but it says "maximum attachment size allowed 128 KB, per post:4". When I try to attach my 2 pics, it says they exceed the size allowed. How can that be when others have posted 2 pics successfully? Please explain this to me slowly lol as this is the first time I have tried this. Thanks.

To "attach" pictures, you'll have to do it one at a time, due to the limits.
When people post multiple pictures, it's because they are uploaded to a gallery first, and then linked in the posts.

I tried to post one pic. The size says 491 kb which I doubted but then when I got the message "your file is too large, the maximum attachment size allowed is 192 kb", then I guess it really is too large. How can it be that big for just one pic taken with a digital camera? I am clueless in Saint-Jerome lol.

I tried as well, and I keep getting an error message that the file is to big.
-
I'll check into this, I've never noticed it before because I usually link to the gallery.

Thanks Heather, please let us know.

Every time I try to post/attach a pic, I get an error message that the file is to big. I have no problem e-mailing pics so what can the problem be ???

The MAX size has now been change by JC to 512Mb each

Then your file is too big, you need to have it resized
Or you can upload it to the gallery and use a link from there

actually, I set the size to 512 KB (1/2 Mb) for each attachment. The reason for the size restrictions is to preserve space on the server. Sorry BD, typo on my part.
:duh:

That shows what I know about Computers

I had four or five pics I wanted to post but realized that only one of them was under 512 Kb. Next time I want to post a few, I'll look into uploading it to a gallery first. Thanks for your input.

Sorry for being such a pain, but I tried posting one photo and I got this answer:
Your file is too large. The maximum attachment size allowed is 1024 KB.
My attachment was smaller than this. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for any guidance you can give me.

Hi LindaBT, nothing that you were doing wrong, the attachment directory was full, so I've extended it way past the defaults. Give it a shot now.

Thanks so much for your help. I finally was able to post a pic.
