Don't you think that all the resorts in Cuba would fly the Canadian Flag. Well they don't. Oasis for one doesn't have one so if you are going there take one with you for them to fly. They have several flag poles and one should be reserved for Canada :minishark:
Now I got that off my chest :cold: It is colder than a witches tit here, wish I was back on the beach! :ham:

Great idea!!!
However I'm not headed there, so it's up to someone else.
Did you enjoy the resort? Any pics you would like to share?

Was disappointed with Oasis, would not return. It is a 3 star at best not close to 4+* in my opinion. Needs lots of work to bring it up to that standard. Food was very repetitive and lots of things not working, - treadmill in gym, hot tub, pool table filthy and had 13 and 1/2 balls (yes 1/2 a ball) and the 1 pool cue was broken off with tape on the end. The entertainment was dancers who danced to recorded music every nights, after 2 weeks it gets a bit boring. The resort has a good layout and the beach is great for long walks, has shady areas and lots of lounges. It is narrow when the tide is in. The shore is rocky so take water shoes with you. And if you are sensitive to smoke it is allowed in the restaurants, yuk. But the sun shone , the breeze blew and I enjoyed myself and made the best of it.

thanks for the update, it doesn't sound like they should be open for business.
I think I'll scratch this one off my list. It often comes up in the Selloffs at a reasonable price.
I'm glad to hear that you were able to enjoy yourself despite the shortfalls.
Where are you going to next?

I had seriously considered this one for our trip this year, sure am glad we passed on it.

What a shame that the new owners of this resort have let it slide in this manner. I had visited when the resort was just a few months old and was run by Gaviota. At that time it was lovely and the food was quite good in the buffet and at the beach grill and was excellent in the Japanese restaurant. I wonder how it could have gone downhill so quickly as it's still only a few years old.

I don't think we will return to Cayo Coco in the future. Being further north is was a lot cooler and the water temperature was not as warm as we have experenced in the Guardalavaca and Santa Lucia areas. I wish we had booked at the Blau, maybe my impression of the area may be different if we had. Might look at Cayo Largo....what do you think?
