 Sounds and looks very nice! I also like the smaller size of the resort.

I thought these were pretty cheap opening rates considering they're for the day after Christmas and it's a 5 Star.
I'd be pretty nervous about booking this though. If the hotel does not open on time, the chances of finding an opening somewhere else last minute for that week would be pretty slim.
-
Very true.. They do have lots of pictures of it, and it looks done..
But I want a very good opening deal to go there.
:)

The new area at Paradisus Rio de Oro, is called the Royal Service too.. I wonder if rates are comparable..
or why they didn't re-brand the hotel to a Paradisus.. interesting.

I was wondering that as well with 2 Melias already in close proximity. When Paradisus Rio de Oro opened did it open as a Melia?? I don't believe it opened as Paradisus.

These prices don't seem to be like those of the RHE's opening, do they? I doubt that the RHE opened over the holidays, however.... I know several of you here made good use of opening prices at that resort and really enjoyed it. TC

The Paradisus opened as a Melia in late 1999. We started going there in 2000, just by coincidence.
It changed the brand to Paradisus in 2003 or 04, can't remember which. and since then has steadily upgraded to a resort/spa, then adults only.. now adding the Royal Service this year..
-
LOL Yes, we did all take advantage of 647.00 a week plus tax to go to RHE that year...
Wasn't all ship shape yet, but the price was right.
:)
I love that area , and would love to go back..

Yes, we paid $647 plus tax to go to Royal Hideaway Ensenachos when it first opened, and there were only 35 guests on the whole resort the week we were there.
Over 500 rooms, 300 staff and only 35 guests.
We were spoiled rotten

YEs I too saw the resort ...looked good but thought for start-up the rates were a tad high.
