CN3.5? CN4 is in Cuba, but this could be grounds for CN3.5...Any interest?
-
great idea MarieMaya!!! Are you volunteering to organize this?
any others interested?
-
I've heard great things about Lula Lounge, but have yet to check it out! Now that I am suffering major Cuba withdrawl I think I am going to have to check this out! Especially since I learned to Salsa on my latest trip to Cuba!
-
flopnfly, it looks like I just did didn't I? Let me just double check with the troops before I commit to doing this though because one of my sons has a b'day that weekend and there has been talk about going to Montreal for the occasion. But if we end up staying here, I'll be glad to get this going!

If you check the October calendar, this band doesn't seem to be playing on that day anymore.
Check out this one for the 29th of October:

I'f I'm not in cuba ;) then this could be a definitely interesting possibility. I thought they sounded like they would be great to see
-
Okay I am so jealous that you may be going to Cuba! I am already looking into going in January to Varadero! I got my weekly email of Travel Specials and it got me very tempted to book again. Pretty soon I'll be averaging a trip to Cuba every 4 months! I've become a CUBA JUNKY :)
-

hi wendy..i'm gigging that night so i can't make it out, but charanga habanera are a definite "must see" band.
you can hear a ton of their stuff on www.timba.com (http://www.timba.com) for free.
‘La Charanga’ - as they are known to their fans around the world - are a 14 piece non-stop dance machine who play the supercharged style of salsa known as timba. Led by visionary music director David Calzado, La Charanga Habanera - with their street-wise attitude and torrid live performances - have stayed at the top of the competitive Cuban music scene for over 15 years.
This concert at Lula Lounge on Octobeer 29 will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the absolute best in contemporary Cuban music. With five front men vocalists, four horns and a huge rhythm section all based in Havana Cuba, La Charanga Habanera truly embody the Spanish word "espectaculo"

I am 100% going to this my friend and I are going to go for the whole package, $69, dinner, dance class and show. Anyone else interested in going and I can make a group reservation?

It was definitely worth every penny! If you haven't beeen to Lula Lounge before it is definitely worth visiting, the dinner was AMAZING!
