Live from Playa Pesquero
« on: May 15, 2005, 09:35:00 PM »
WOW !!!
We're here and it is amazing.  The resort is huge, but we expected that.  We are in room 1511 and we can see the beach and ocean from our balcony.    :)

We met up with Garin and SWMBO, what a lovely couple they are.  We spent yesterday afternoon and all day today with them on the beach and snorkelling.  Wonderful snorkelling right off the beach here.  Did I say what a nice beach it is?  It's great, this resort is on the best part of the beach.  I did fall over some rocks and coral today and went face first onto the beach, and no I wasn't drunk.    :D    I scraped up my foot but other than that I'm fine.

We just finished a wonderful dinner and had a Millwood and now we're off to have a Crazy Canadian.

It was raining when we landed but very hot, the rain didn't last long.  We had a lot of rain through the night but today was great up until about 5 and then rain came again.  It's still raining on and off.

Exchanged some money at the airport and the rate was $1.40, at the resort here it is $1.43 for Canadian $.

The staff here are incredibly friendly, they go above and beyond to please.

We haven't made it to the swim up bar yet, that's tomorrows project.

Internet charges are $4 for 30 minutes and it is slow.

The resort is only about 30% occupancy so no crowds and no waiting for anything.  Lots of Brits here.

Ok, we're off to the lobby bar now for a few   :wi:  .

Having a great time in Cuba

 Heather & John

Hey!  I'm so jealous.  I wish i was there too. I was in room 1509 when i was there 2 weeks ago - it's a good location.

Say hello to Danny for me if you have the chance - to Yanet and Hector too!

Don't forget to have some misty chicken at the beer garden and think about the rest of us who are stuck back here in Canada

Actually, not quite true. THose bar stools are slippery and the water isn't too deep.  You can hurt yourself .... trust me.

So you finally booked it Heather then, eh!!!  If you get to read this before you return, please go to the Sports Centre at the PP and tell Mailin I arrived home safely on Monday.

I spoke to her on the telephone on Saturday lunch time from the Melia at Cayo Santa Maria and she told me then it had been raining in Guardalavaca.  We had 2 weeks of unbroken sunshine at the Melia with no rain whatsoever.

Enjoy the PP, it is a fabulous place.

Hello,
The sun is shining and we're all burnt to a crisp.  I've been using 45 but I can't stay out of the sun so my shoulders are burnt.  The kids are staying out of the sun today because they are so burnt.  John has gone diving, I just finished breakfast at the Latino buffet, the other buffet is closed.  The latino is only open for breakfast and dinner and only 5 of the al a cartes are open.

We had dinner at la Romantio last night, very nice.  There was a wedding party having their reception in there so we got to see the bride.
If anybody is planning a wedding this is the place to do it!!

I'm going to relax this morning after I read some posts on here.  I buy 30 minutes of internet time and I barely get a post up, it's that slow.

We've booked the catameran trip for Thursday, that's always fun.  John is diving all week.

We'll walk along and try to meet up with Garin again today and do some snorkelling along at his end.

Wendy, you are going to love it here.  The airport is easy, You get off the plane and walk down the stairs, the hot air hits you and you know you're not in TO anymore.    :)  Security is quick and easy, and once you're through that go over to the exchange and change some money and then your bags will be there. You can buy cold drinks outside.  I was asked by so many staff to change loonies and toonies.  Why do people tip in coins!!!  Even at the resort I'm being asked to change CDN $ for CUC's.

Wendy, the beach at the PP is the nicest area and only a couple of minutes walk from your area.  Not too far.  There is a walkway that goes along all three resorts or you can walk along the beach.

The water this morning was like glass, so calm and so blue.  Absolutely gorgeous.

We did the pool for a bit yesterday, but I'm not that impressed.  The beach is so much better.

I met up with Lisa (Wavebaby) from Debbies yesterday as well.  She recognized me from my picture I guess.  She came up and asked if I was Heather?  We were booking our al a cartes at the time so I didn't get much of a chance to talk but we said we'd look for each other later.  I spotted her blue bag but couldn't find her.   :(    It's a big place, but I'm sure we'll run into each other again.

Tuss, don't worry all is good.   :D

Mr B welcome back and I will definately pass on your hello.

 talk later

 Heather

:)  Glad to hear you guys are having a good time.  I am so jealous.  It is soooo cold here it is not even funny.  Only 26 more days and I will be able to enjoy it as well.
