Friends of mine have just booked last minute leaving April 9th.
 
 She has said they have the "cheapest" rooms which she was told were the ones by the beach (not the Manor) ... I know this is where you like to stay, do you have a room preference perhaps she could ask for before they go? Do these rooms have carpet or ceramic?

The "cheapest" rooms at Sandals GRANDE in general are not on the riviera side, but across the road on the manor side.  They are the mountain view rooms in the great house (manor).  The cheapest rooms on the riviera side are the deluxe grove rooms and they are not ocean view, in fact they are the first buildings outside of the lobby to the right.  I have booked these rooms each time, but fortunately always got an upgrade to either the ocean view cottage outside of the Reef Terrace, or in the Riviera building, so I've actually never been inside a deluxe grove room!! lol
 
 I think most of the rooms at sandals are now tiled floors with area rugs, however we've had two rooms in the riviera building which were carpeted.  If your friends paid the cheapest price but are SSG members, they will be entitled to an upgrade, so be sure to remind them of that.      
 
 Regardless of which "side" they're on, the shuttles run constantly almost 24 hours a day, so it's not that big of a deal, really.

She WANTS to stay on the Riviera side to have a room close to the beach, she's asked for that as a request, she doesn't want the Manor and when her agent said "cheapest" I think the Agent said it was the beach side anyways (then again as we all know, TA's sometimes don't know as much as us travelaholics do   ;)  )
