PLAYA TURQUESA
« on: April 23, 2005, 10:05:00 PM »
Ok guys,
what do you think of the Playa Turquesa?  It's on the sell offs for $755 which seems like a pretty good price to me.

Is it really a 4 star?

Gotta agree with Deb here...  The Turquesa is well worth 4 stars... maybe even 4 1/2!

ok, I've looked at photo's and the beach doesn't look that great.  It looks like lots of weeds or sea grass pretty close to shore.  Is that what it's really like or am I seeing something that isn't there?

The pools look amazing, that'll keep Bonnie happy, but John and I need a great beach.

The water side of the beach is not the greatest .  Definately not as nice as at the PCV.

The sand is nice and soft, but you have to go a long way out to get past the sea grass.  It doesn't get deep very fast, so not the greatest for snorkelling.

The pools are definately the best I have found it Cuba.  You can choose your activity/noise level and be perectly comfortable.

Fair comment Gambitt.   I still feel that you have to go some way to beat the beaches at Punta Cana in the Dom Rep.   OK the sea is not turquoise but there is no sea weed - it suits me down to the ground.  Don't know how good it is though for snorkelling.

I haven't seen anything to beat Varadero Beach yet.   Not even Negril in Jamaica.

I'd like to try another part of Cuba, but I need the great beach.
