Human Rights in Cuba
« on: April 25, 2005, 02:12:00 PM »
Okay... I never felt comfortable discussing this at Debbie's, due to the "no politics" rules, but...

I have an independant source to all info, on the reality of the UN's opinions on Human Rights in Cuba.

My Brother-in-Law, and his Wife work for the United Nations High Commision for Human Rights, in Geneva.  Andy's wife, Kitty Arambulo (lots of links from Google) , is a Fellow of the High Commission.

Andy and Kitty are coming over to Canada, in May, to have their new son meet the family; so while she is here, I am going to ask her, if we can chat, about the specific case of Cuba.

Hopefully, I will be able to get a real feeling for the situation in Cuba, without a US OR Cuban "slant" on the facts.

As soon as I have the details, I will pass them on here.

That's great Gambitt,

I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.  Maybe you can convince them to log on here and answer any questions people might have.  Or we can pass the questions through you and you can post the answers.

Absolutely... I talk to Andy and Kitty all the time on email, so if anyone wants a "real" answer, direct from the comission, I would be happy to pass on your questions!

That should prove very interesting Gambitt.  Look forward to you posting the dates they will be in Canada when you know them.

Just hope I'm back from vacation so I'm able to 'sit in' on all of this.
