Thank you Notes
« on: May 11, 2005, 04:25:00 PM »
What do we write on a thank you note to the resort staff?  I usually just write it in english but this time I want to leave it in spanish.

I need the help of all you spanish speaking people.

 Usually all I say is:

Thank you for all your hard work and generous hospitality.  Here is a little gift to show our appreciation.

How does that translate into spanish?  I've tried the translator websites and I've gotten back some weird translations.

We usually don't write anything extra special.  We usually leave a mix of spanish and english.

I know most of you know but for those who don't that might read this...We have been told that the staff require a note that also has your Name, date, RM#, and something like...this is a gift for you from____.

As some of you know as well we take post cards from where we live and write our notes on those.  It is a little something to show where you live.

Heather, here's the translation:

Gracias por todo tu trabajo y generoso hospitalidad.
Aca dejo un pequeno presente que muestra mi gratitud

The word pequeno has that little squiggly thing (can't remember the real name) over the "n"

Thanks Wendy,
I'm going to trust you on that translation.     :D

Now if I get chased out of the resort by a bunch of screaming cubans throwing tins of salmon at me because of what it says, well I think you might be in trouble when I get back.       :D

though I believe that if Cubans start screaming and throwing tins of salmon at you, especially in the Holguin area, it's because they want you to come back to Canada and tell cubaking to quit bringing tins of wild salmon to cuba with him. They want MONEY not salmon  :rof:
