The Sol Cayo Santa Maria
« on: June 23, 2005, 08:11:00 PM »
Has anyone out there been to this hotel recently?
This will be our 9 th trip to Cuba and we leave on the 9th of July.
So far we have been to .
 Breezes/Playa Costa Verdi (2 times)
 Breezes Jibacoa (5 times)
and Barcelo Cayo Largo (1 time too many)
Any tips or heads up on the area would be a help.
 Thanks in advance   Ray

Raybo:

I have been next door at the Melia and you can find my review on the Trip Reports at the top of the page.

Fred and Tracie and Sunluvr have also only recently returned from the Melia.

Avidmerrion was at the Sol at the same time as I was at the Melia.  You will find his review at:

  Cubafriends

Just go to Hotel Advice and Reviews and select Sol Cayo Santa Maria - May1st - May 15th 2005 - Excel flight

I was there in January, and my DH has been there twice this year.  This is our favorite location in Cuba. Nothing negative to report from my vacation, but I have never been there at this time of year. From what other visiters have mentioned, I would be sure to take mosquito repellant. Enjoy your trip!

Hey Raybo

we went there in May.  I'm not sure really what you want to know about the place, so If there is something specific give me a shout.  I really enjoyed the hotel,  the food was good, the drink was plentyful and the beach was top dollar   :)   It all depends in what your looking for in a hol I suppose, beacuse there is virtually nothing to do outside the complex apart from walk,  but this suited me, as my life is hectic enough for the other 50 weeks a year lol.  I'm sure you will have a top hol
