Cuba tops for pound stretching
« on: August 29, 2005, 07:19:00 AM »
Just came across this article this morning.

 www.thisismoney.co.uk

I'm sure I could think of many better reasons to travel to Cuba than this rather pointless article.   What on earth is this stupidly named Ice Cream Index?

I mean the average British all inclusive traveller doesn't have to pay for a three course meal, a glass of beer or take a 10-minute taxi journey whilst in Cuba so it really isn't a fair comparison IMHO.

However if it helps promote tourism to Cuba, so much the better.

I agree it's interesting that they would include Cuba and DR in the list.  Both countries are normally all inclusive travel for most tourists.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Cuba and the DR are good value at the moment from the UK and you need little spending money, it would have been better if the article compared the total cost of the holiday
