Hurricane to hit the Cayos!
« on: September 19, 2005, 11:44:00 AM »
The latest in this years hurricane brood is due to hit the Cayos Coco and Guillermo within the next 48 hrs. As I write the guests from the Daiquiri (and I guess the rest of the areas hotels) are being evacuated

Look at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/  Currently coded as Tropical Storm RITA

Threedogs, keep us posted if you hear from any of your friends at the Daiquiri.
Rita looks like she could turn into a right proper "b**ch"

You had me worried Mike, I had to write a few emails to check out our friends as well at the Daiquiri.

Milady writes: "We are getting some rain from Rita storm and hope it does not cause much
damage here. Clients are still here and we will evacuate them to cayo Coco
if needed but I hope everything will be ok. Will keep you posted".

Somewhat positive, but still I worry.   :(

We just received an email from our friend who works at Sol Cayo Guillermo and all is well.  They said no damage was received at all.
