Mini Trip report for the Playa Costa Verde
« on: January 18, 2006, 05:02:00 PM »
Well, we had another excellent vacation in Cuba.  Apprently, it had rained all day last tuesday before we got there, but then they heard we were coming, so they shut off the rain for the whole week.    :(  ), but I used one of the good days to do the Catamaran trip down the coast.  I also got mixed up with some clams, that didn't agree with me (allergy) so that took a day to get over.

It was great to meet everyone on the beach, and we shared some chat, and more than a few cervesas.

The strangest thing was, I have never seen the PCV that empty... at 2 pm yesterday, I had the ENTIRE pool at the PCV to myself!! The only way you could play "towel wars" was with an Army Tent, to cover all the empty chairs.  It did make for very short lines at all the bars, the buffet, and the staff took their usual great care of everyone.

Our room request was filled perfectly.. I asked for 2nd floor of 2800, we were in 2821.  Right over the walkway to the beach, 30 seconds from the pool. This is the perfect room if you ask me, but if you are going with me, I have Dibbs!

The beach was very nice, lots of chairs there too.  Well kept by the staff, and lots of fine sand.

The food was good, and if you go to the Japanese, you have to have Luke for your chef...  His knowlege of Cananda is amazing, ("it's on my map"), but "no photos, He's in the Witness Protection Program!"  ;)  Best meal going in Cuba!

Well, I guess that's the highlights, but if anyone has questions etc. Just toss them out!!!

Thanks Gambitt for taking the time to bring us up to date. Hope your CWS isn't bothering you too badly. The empty pool must have been a little erie  :th:   How was your dive and how does the PCV compare with the Blau?
Don't worry, it won't be that long before you are thinking about a NEW ticker!  :cubadreamin:

:)  Sounds like a nice week Gambitt.  Thanks for posting that report so soon.   I think it might be kind of nice to have the resort at less than 100% capacity for at least part of the time.  The more I read about this area of Cuba the more convinced I become that this is where we should book the next time.  :cubadreamin:

Milli, IMO, as nice as that part of Cuba is, I am convinced, after reading way too many reviews, that you have booked the perfect resort.  I am so looking forward to your thoughts when you get back.

You go in April; we want to go in May.  The question is:  can I wait for last minute?

Perfect resort, but   :off:  did you find the perfect duffle yet?

Oops sorry Gambitt.  I didn't mean to hijack your thread.   :o

We went to the PCV on the way to the airport.  It was the first time I'd been there and it looked quite nice.

Gambitt: Now that you have had a full stay at the PCV how would you compare it to GPT?

Wow, back already, only seems like yesterday you were heading out. Glad you finally got to stay at the PCV. It was nice of them to turn off the rain for you guys too.  :D

Gambitt,

thanks for the mini report, but I'm sure that there is much more to tell.     :)   What about writing a dive report for us, and did you take any photo's that we can see?

I heard that they have stopped the motorized water sports on the beach, did you notice this while you were there?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
