Cuba '07 - Which Resort - BJ or PP ??
« on: September 25, 2006, 02:02:00 PM »
Looks like we're going back to Cuba in 2007

Now to decide on which resort! We are going with two other couples.

One of the couples have brought up the Breezes Jibacoa as a resort to go to. I have read the reviews and seems nice, but to me it sounds like it is more laid back.

I did Playa Pesquero this year (2nd time there) and really like the place and find there is tons to do at the resort.

My travel agent can get us into PP for only $40.00 more per person over BJ.

Have any of you fellow Cuba traveller been to both resorts? If so, which one would you pick and why?

I'm leaning to trying to talk the other two couples into going to PP.

 Thanks in advance.

PS. The Bubba has already been purchased!

We've been to Jibacoa twice and it is a fantastic resort. Great snorkeling and the ability to see a little bit of the real Cuba within the surrounding area! Havana is just over an hour away and for that reason it should be strongly considered (unless you have been to Havana before of course)! The Pesquero according to everyone is a great place, the bottom line is you can't go wrong with either!!! Since you have been to PP twice, why not go to BJ!!! You will not be disappointed!! Are the kids staying at home? as BJ is adults only!

We've almost been to BJ quite a few times but never made it there yet.

We've been to Pesquero and loved it.

If there are no kids going then you should try the BJ just so you can have something to compare.

Are you thinking of any other options or are you just considering the two?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Food for thought.  Blau Costa Verde is an awesome resort and well worth the money.  I rate this resort at a 5 star although it is listed as a 4.  I've never eaten so well in all my trips to Cuba, visited in March 06. The snorkelling is great right off the beach and there are tons of things to do.  I found this resort to be extremely well organized.  This is a family place (lots of kids) so if you are going to get away from them.....then I agree with F & T - Jibacoa.  :belly:

Latest Update........

One couple in the group has dropped out, due to buying a new house and having to watch their spending.

The second couple proposed Brisas Del Caribe, but to me it and too many negative items mentioned in reviews here and on TA.

The second couple then said that Breezed Jibacoa would be fine, but I had done some checking and for $120.00 less a couple we can do Playa Pesquero.

So it looks like we'll be heading there in February (our 3rd time our friends 1st). Now to get the finally okay and book the trip! Then the hard part of waiting!!!!!

Hopefully I didn't jynx this now!

PS. Boy does Sunquest tours seem to be very pricey this year, we're finding the best prices on Nolitours.
