Melia Cayo Guillermo??
« on: November 10, 2006, 10:59:00 AM »
Anyone been to Melia Cayo Guillermo?  While doing my daily price check for Iberostar Daiquiri found an excellent deal for this resort - have seen the beach, etc. but wondering what the actual resort is like.  Food, rooms, pool, etc.  Any and all help appreciated!!

This is Canuks favourite resort. I'm sure as soon as Cyndy sees this, she'll be more than happy to "shed some light" on this resort.

Heather, Kharmar and I all stayed next door at the Sol CG and the beach was spectacular!
I briefly went into the MCG to drop off some letters etc to a friend of Canuks, but didn't really take time to explore because I was about to get caught in a collosal downpour  :)

We visited this resort in April 2006. I can honestly say that it is one of the best we have been to in Cuba. We have been to the Cayo Coco area on three other occasions, we all agreed that Cayo Guillermo, which is more secluded, is our preference.

The beaches are fantastic, there is a beautiful long pier w/covered areas to lounge in and hammocks to lie in and just listen to the waves.

Good snorkeling around the pier and many folks were fishing.

Food is fab, especially the take out pizza!!

Well maintained, top notch service. Definitely 4* material. Go and enjoy!!

Sorry I have been on the chat page and not the "Cuba" page.

Yes it is one of our favorite locations. MCG
The pool is nice and at either end there are natural ponds with fish, waterplants and small water falls.  The building is a max of 3 stories and nicely spread out so ut feels quite private.  The beach is wide and at low tide the large expanses of soft white sand is what dreams are made about.

The different eating locations offer nice variety of dining locations.  The staff is nice, but I think that all of the staff I have encounteres on the Island are nice.

 Any specific questions?

Canuks - sent you a PM

Can't wait to get there - I love that area - hope the resort is as great as everyone says (but to be honest - as long as there is sun and rum  ;)  )
