Booked and Have Questions
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:35:00 AM »
Hi There,

Had no plans to go to Cuba this year - needed new patio doors BUT, found a deal from Fredericton to Holguin (Club AMigo) for $711 and just couldn't pass it up.  Hubby's birthday today so when I called him yesterday for the OK to book, he was very pleased - patio doors will wait!  So, to get to the point, we booked online with Canadiantravel.com.  Have never booked online before and we have to pick up our tickets and vouchers at the airport.  I am kind of a nervous nellie when it comes to these things so am looking for reassurance/advice from people who have "been there, done that".  As for Club Amigo, we were there in 2005 and loved it.  Not fancy but everything we need.  Stayed in the Villa section then but for this price I am sure we will be in the OLD OLD section (booked as Club Amigo Guardalavaca, Garden View)- not a problem for us I don't think.  I know that some of the forum members have been to the different sections of the Club Amigo and I would like a little comment on this section if anyone has experience of it.  Don't really care about much except that it be clean and I found the resort to be clean and tidy on the previous visit.

Now, normally I am a lurker, don't post very often but have been perusing this board since its inception.  Looking forward to views from all of you Cubaphiles!  I would really appreciate it.  Oh God, I can't believe I'm going back to Cuba !!!!!

 Thanks All!

 Susan  :)

Hi Susan,

I can't help with Club Amigo, but I have booked online many times and picked up my tickets at the Airport, I have never had a problem but been nervous about it as well. What I do is call the tour company that it was booked with, give them your booking # just to make sure your in there system    :)   that always gives me peace of mind    :)

Hi Rupietoot,
Congrats on booking! Yep patio doors will wait but a trip to Cuba cannot  :)

I remember being a "nervous nellie" too the first time I did "airport pickup" Don't worry, it's a breeze. Take a copy of your booking details to the airport with you just as a precautionary thing.

Fred & Tracie have stayed in the old part of the amigo so hopefully they will see this and give you all the details. It was about a year ago I believe that they stayed there so their info should be fairly up-to-date
