Zombie, that is a good price for the PRDO.
The stopover in CC isn't that bad. I've had 2 stopovers before, once we had to disembark (en route to CSM) and once we didn't (in CC). When we got off in Cienfuegos we had time to have a couple of cervezas and do some shopping. I changed my money there on that trip and the time went pretty quick.
The stopover in CC was so quick that we didn't get to get off the plane
But I'm glad it's on the way down because that means we leave Holguin later (translation: MORE BEACH TIME)  :D   :D   :D

If you decide to book the PRDO, we'll have to plan a day to meet on Guardalava Beach for some Mojitos for me and some Zombies for you  :D

Gambitt, I KNOW I'll enjoy the PCV AGAIN  :D

You guys up for a June vacation  ;)

Ya, I know it's a good price , but I'm looking for a great price lol I think the MCSM price spoiled me .  It is just one of many on my list , I have never seen it lower then that price , If we do book it for sure we will hook up !
I'm also looking at where you stayed the Sol Cayo Guillermo would you recommend it ? Do you like it as much as PCV ?

The SCG was an extremely pleasant surprise - considering it's only rated as a 3.5 star

The beach was breathtaking - by far the best stretch of beach out of the 4 hotels on the island
Staff were amongst the best of any resort in Cuba (love Carlos and Guillermo the beach bartenders)
Food was very good - I even ate beef   :D

Would I go back to SCG? Oh yeah, in a heartbeat. It was a bit too "unlively" for the BIT though, not a lot of teens/early 20 crowd.

I still have to give the edge to the PCV though. All around, we enjoyed it the best out of all our trips to Cuba. It's right up there with Jamaica  ;)

You will love the PCV, it is great.  Do me a favour and play bingo at the pool every day at 4pm.  The prize is a bottle of rum, I never won, but you might.  Have a great time.

Lizzy, actually I think you brits sometimes get some better deals than us canucks. Check Garins post on the previous page of this thread. He's talking about the PCV for 2 WEEKS for approx 717 GBPs (I think it was 2 weeks anyway)
It was for 2 weeks the total cost with Fuel Levy and Local Departure Tax (I presume this is Cuban departure tax) is £836pp with 1st Choice, we paid £816pp for this year, late deals are getting harder to find over here we booked 12 months in advance at rock bottom price, the PCV is not available with 1st Choice or Thomas Cook for April 07 and Thomson are charging £1044pp

Garin ..is that for you both ?     and Cuba is becoming more popular here as Garin says but longhaul is becoming more competative with Europe every year
Last minute deals here are now more expensive than early bookings -we learnt that the hard way a couple of years back....maybe I should get you peeps to book my holidays in future   :1:

;)   We are looking at Playa Pesquero with Sun Wing out of Fredericton.  There is an hour's stopover in Sydney, N.S!  Do you think they will let the passengers out?

I am still very interested in RIU Tropical Bay for another trip but my time frames are very fixed now.

Enjoy the freedom from the Sell Off sites now that you have the booking behind you!

milli,
you are still looking at April right?
I know what you mean about the Carpal Tunnel lol
You have no idea how many times a day I checked that price last weekend and Monday morning. I was positive that it was a boo-boo and I would hit the "book now" button and the price would be way higher  :)

I'm not really sure how they handle domestic layovers. But an hour, hmmm, I would hope they would let you off the plane, at least to stretch your legs  :)

I think if you see a deal for the PP that you can live with, you gotta book it. Deals for 4 stars and over do not last (at least in Toronto)

Keep off the sell off sites? OMG, you just don't know me at all do you  :D
