Fish and Critter Identification
« on: December 03, 2006, 11:34:00 AM »
since my pictures from Coz went up I've been trying to ID some of the fish and other marine life that I took pictures of, sometimes successfully, other times shamefully unsuccessfully.  However, while we were in Curacao, they had a great book there to help ID the local marine life, which I was able to find at Amazon.ca called "REEF FISH IDENTIFICATION - Florida, Caribbean Bahamas" by Paul Humann and Ned Deloach.  For anyone looking for a good reference to ID the fish and coral that they've seen, this book is one of the best I've seen.  Amazon also had it's companion book "REEF CREATURES IDENTIFICATION - Florida, Caribbean and Bahamas" by the same authors as a special deal, it came to about $60 with taxes, and no shipping.  Great deal if you need this kind of resource.   Here is a link to amazon with the package.  I'll be updating my pics with some names of the fish and coral shortly as I go through this book.    :D
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I know some of those critters you went to Coz with. I met them at various Cuba Nights and container packs.
 Which ones don't you know?
