Have been researching spending a few weeks in the Honduras and have come up with some interesting info. Friends of ours spend a month there every year, they stay at Honduras shores plantation(www.hondshores.com) The off season price for 1/bdr.-1/bath modern unit with air and kitchen, a couple of minute walk from the ocean complete with pools and bars and restaurant is an amazing $175 per week, 2/bdr-2/bath is $225 per week. You can go out and eat at restaurants for a few $. Off season starts April18th to Dec. 20th!

F&T, really kind of funny that you guys posted about Honduras today. I was doing my usual perusal of the sell off sites today and saw the Palma Real Beach Resort in La Ceiba Honduras today. For this weekend it's coming up for 657.50 plus taxes.
This would be a good alternative for families of 5 or 6 as the standard room in the Palma Real Caribe Section sleep a max of 6

Ok I just found this on Conquest Vacations website.

Please note that you must have a passport that has been valid for 3 months prior to your departure in order to gain entry in Honduras.

Am I reading this wrong or does this mean that you can't get a new passport just before you leave for vacation?

this is the first time I've heard of this. :confused:

I was looking at PALMA REAL CARIBE-BEACH RESORT it looks like a nice 4* for only $1002 for March Break.

MMMMM that does sound weird, Flopnfly. Do you suppose they mean that passports must have 3 months or more before expiry date ...that's usually the request for some countries ...they don't like to see a passport that is close to the expiry date. ;) ;)
