Air Canada Vacations from the Maritimes
« on: October 15, 2006, 10:46:00 AM »
:)  Many of the members from the Maritimes on 7 Days have much more travel experience to the South than I do and I have learned much from this board and others.

To this point I felt that we were pretty well shut out of the Summer and Fall travel season South unless we found a deal out of TO or Montreal and then looked for a round trip flight to those departure points.

What I have found out is that AC vacations does not post all pkg on the sell off sites and it is possible to go to Cuba, DR etc from Fredericton, Moncton, Charlottetown, Halifax for some very good prices and from what I can see every weekend.  The price of the connector flights is minimal with our's being about $ 200 tax&fees included/pp/roundtrip.  That, added to some really good deals out of TO and Montreal makes travel to these locations both affordable and accessible . I found that these deals are best obtained through a Travel Agency.

I thought I would pass this info on in case there is someone in the East who wants to turn their   :sunin:

Your (our) experience in finding this trip and finally booking it never ceases to amaze me.

For some reason, Air Canada Vacations are playing their cards "close to the vest" on the East Coast.  I'm still trying to figure out how they think they can make more money that way.

Hopefully things will be more "upfront" once Sunwing arrives.

;)   and also work with a tourist agent.  I cannot figure out the rhyme nor reason for how they choose what to have posted on the sell off sites unless it has something to do with the availability of connector seats.

I doubt it  :(   I think their schedule is for April and May departures.  The May departures should extend our season for a couple of weeks.  Things are improving though.
