Have booked the Bahia Principe for December. Any handy hints from Bulldog (or anyone else who has been) as to room block to choose/things we must do.

Which Bahia Pincipe did you book? LoL!

There are 3, Punta Cana, Bavaro and Peurto Plata (Rio San Juan).

Sorry. Its the one in Punta Cana. However, until confirmation comes through I am not sure whether it will be Bavaro or Punta Cana side. Even then, I still may not know till I arrive!! As I understand it it literally depends which tour company you book through as to which side of the hotel you get. All facilities are the same for everyone just two different receptions.

:) No more "looking" just "looking forward". That is great JJay. That resort looks beautiful and I read that the beaches at Bavaro are very good.

Yes you are right about the tour company and what side you will get...it is the same on both sides of the resort..it is very nice resort..if you have any questions..let me know..I have a map of the resort if you want..

I have seen a map of the resort and I am a little unsure as to where to choose a room block. Normally I ask for a ocean view and have in the past been fortunate. However on this occasion an ocean view would seem to be a long way from everything else and I thought perhaps asking for a pool view by the middle pools might be a better option. Would you agree?

Also was there building work going on when you were there and if so is it very close by. I know new hotels are going up either side. Also I have heard mention of a golf course being built. Just panicking a little as I've paid the deposit.

Well you right if your down by the Ocean you are far away from the main Eating places and ENERTAINMENT...so we where in the middle by the 2 pools

Less than 8 weeks to wait now but the time is really dragging as I'm so looking forward to this holiday.
