Bulldog, thanks so much for responding. My husband and I stayed at the Bahia Principe Akumal in Mexico. We also loved the Bahia. From the pictures I have seen online they look very much a like. Have you heard anything about the Iberostar Bavaro in Punta? Please anyone let me know if you have. thanks

Roscatada

 Welcome to the board.

I've been to the DR a few times but haven't made it to Punta Cana yet.

From what I've heard about it, we'll need to go some day.

Is this your first time to the DR?

Dear Flopnfly,
We were in Haiti and Puerta Plata once on are honeymoon 28 years ago. Cruise ships use to stop at those ports. What we saw was not very nice, I  hope it will be a lot nicer in Punta Cana. Thanks for answering.

I have stayed at the Bahia Principe in Mexico twice and enjoyed it so much that I had to try out the one in Punta Cana.  I went in December and found the resort to be excellent.  Food was not quite as good as Mexico in my opinion but still very good.  The hotel is ideal for a large group as there are plenty of different places to eat and drink if you do want to split from the crowd and also something to suit everyones taste.  The shuttle buses were excellent, much more frequent than in Mexico.  You only had to wait a couple of minutes max, so very easy for all ages to get around.

May 2007 - Bahia Principe Coba
