The vegetation is still young, but it is going to be beautiful in about a year.

It also reminds me of the Princessa Del Mar.  That was built as a Grand Lido, and this resort is in the same style as the Grand Lido.

The beach is in a small cove ( not so small, it takes about an hour to walk the beach).  It is very sheltered, and everyday is a green flag day.

Heather, thanks for the stunning pictures !!!

How was the flight with Westjet ? I have never flown with them, I hear there is lot's of leg room also tv's on the back of every seat so you can watch whatever you want, it would sure help make the time fly   :D
Is the bus ride to the resort really 90min as stated in the travel book ?

Westjet is ok.  there is more leg room but the seats don't seem to be that wide??  There are TV's on the backs of the seats with some TV shows, news etc.  You can watch a movie by swiping your credit card for $5.  There is a swipe right beside each TV.

I had to sit beside a family with a toddler that screamed the whole return trip.  She was really screaming, it was making peoples teeth hurt.

Dear Flopnfly:

Thank for the great pictures. The resort looks absolutely fabulous. Can't wait to go there.

We are always concerned about what the weather might be like this time of year. Did you have much rain??

We had great weather !!!  We were worried about travelling during hurricane season too but we had nothing to worry about.

It did rain through the night a couple of times, but we never heard it or saw it.  One evening just before dinner we had some black clouds roll in and we had a quick thunderstorm.  It only lasted about an hour and then it was over.  It really cleared the humidity.

We stupidly stood and took pictures of the clouds not realizing that we still had to go out for dinner, and we should have left before the rain.     :D

Excellent photos Heather.  Really impressive resort as we all knew it would be.

I just hope that the occupancy rate does rise there as it would be a real shame to see it half empty most of the time.

thanks Bellagio,  I still have to organize them and sort them in order.  I just wanted to get them up for people to see.  Still more to upload and sort.

I'm sure that the occupancy levels will increase.  The week after us they were expecting a group of 250 Hungarians, and they had the resort ready for them, however they postponed their trip for a couple of weeks.  The staff really take their jobs seriously, I was most impressed with this.

It'll be interesting to hear about Karen and Marty's visit in a couple of weeks.

Karen have you emailed the resort yet?

I would recommend room4125, it was one of the better rooms and a great concierge.  But it depends on the occupancy level on where they put you.

they were alternating weeks between the spa and the royal section.

ok, just sent off an email to Mr.O'Farrill, who replied to my last email , regarding the room..
I will let you know how that goes..
( I am picturing a little Irish gentleman, but I know with a first name of Silvio, that's not likely! LOL)
 Did you meet him?
