TORONTO (CP) - The Swan's End Guesthouse has an enviable location - close to downtown, yet seemingly far removed from the hustle and bustle.
The hotel, on the tranquil Toronto islands, is a short ferry ride from the docks at the foot of Bay Street. It has two guestrooms.
"Perched on a lagoon, this island cottage is a 10-minute walk from the Ward's Island ferry dock," says the newly published third edition of "Time Out Toronto," which lists Swan's End among the city's best hotels.
The other hotels on the guidebook's list:
-For families: The Delta Chelsea, which has a water slide, family pool and childcare centre.
-For "pomp and ceremony": The Windsor Arms, which "specializes in old-fashioned finery and top-notch service."
-For culture vultures: The Gladstone, where "every bedroom is a work of art."
-For spas: The Park Hyatt and its Stillwater Spa.
-For yoga fans: The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Pantages Suites Hotel, which provide incense menus, a meditation channel and yoga mats.
-For "a home away from home": The Baldwin Village Inn, a six-room converted house that "makes every guest feel like part of the family."
