The END of Towel Wars!

The END of Towel Wars!!!

Maybe I'm just a realist but here's my idea to end all the BS of Towel Wars...   Post-It Notes!!!

How much effort or brains does it take to stick a post-it pad and a golf-pencil in your beach bag, if you intend to "save" a chair...

"I'm using these X-chairs and will return to them at X time"

Heck, for the amount of problems that towel-wars create, for the management of the hotel;  It would be worth a few cents to provide a few at the reception desk with your check-in package.   Hotels could set there own limits, based on the number of chairs they have.  Any chair, reserved beyond the limits, either too soon or over-time, would be up for grabs.  If someone posts a note at 7 am, and says they will be back at 10 am...  then they never should have posted the note, and the chair is up for grabs.

Even if you don't speak the language, I'm sure most people can figure out the time written on the note.

I'm going to post this on as many boards as I can, and ask others to pass it along as well.

Better vacations for everyone, and maybe the hotels will see it and adopt it?

Cheers

I saw a group of 10 that reserved chairs everyday.

One or two would show up on the beach early and arrange all the chairs in "their" spot, then they would all meet up for breakfast in the buffet and everyday we saw them order 6 bottles of champagne.  The were all well on their way to being drunk by the time they hit the beach at 10 am.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

A bunch of Tourons!

The ones that really get my blood boiling are the ones that have chairs at the beach and pool  or  they save a bunch of chairs under palapas and then have another chair 20ft or so away at the beach where they sit for most of the day. But, at least their stuff and towels don't have to sweat it out in the blazing sun.

:sunny: I was just reminded of this fact yesterday ( why it came to mind with a large snow storm brewing I can't say :confused2:)  The experience we had with towel wars on our last trip was still on my mind I guess   When we were at the Royal Hideaway we did not experience any real problems with finding loungers or shade but on those days when there were a lot of people at the beach and all the palapas were taken then you could go to the beach staff and they would bring you a nice large beach umbrella.  I saw maybe a dozen of these at various times.  How much would it put a resort out to invest in a number of these and keep them under the control of resort staff? They might not provide the sun protection of a thatched roof but are a good back up!
