Time difference UK
« on: May 09, 2005, 04:18:00 PM »
What is the time difference between Cuba and the UK?  We have a 0800hrs flight from the UK, we are going to Holguin staying in Playa pesquero.  Our booking confirmation says we will arrive at 1330 local time - I don't think this is correct.

 0800 UK - 10 hours to Vardero - 1800 UK
 1800 - 2000 UK stop over
 2000 - 2130 land Holguin
 2300 - Hotel

I think there may be a -5 hour difference so my my thinking we should arrive at hotel at about 1800 local.

Please can you put me right as Im getting brain fade thinking about it.

Flight departure/arrival times on your ticket are local time, if you fly at 8-00am on a 10hr flight you land at 6-00pm UK time then knock of 5hrs try this link  http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_CU.aspx
Not sure how long it will take to clear customs and transfer to your hotel

Thanks Garin, I thought I was going to have to be superwoman and fly round the world and alter the time.

OMG that sounds soooo confusing to me.  It reminds me of those hated math questions in school.

We are 5 hours behind you guys, and we're the same time as Cuba.  So if it's 5:21 here, it's 5:21 in Cuba, but 10:21 in Britain.

so therefore if you were in Cuba right now you'd be going for dinner, but in Britain you'd be going to bed.

Just leave your watch at home.     :D

Garin, you're already there and I'm still packing my bags.

Hope you're having your first mojito and enjoying the Cuba people.

 See you soon
