Hi Bonnie,

I've never been to Cayo Coco, just Varadero and Holguin.

I'm sure somebody around here must have been.  I hear that the beach is beautiful there.

 When are you going?

Hi Bonnie - not been there at all, but I just wanted to say 'Hi'.

I was talking about you earlier on the Forum as it looks like I'll be visiting TO for Cuba Night, hopefully in mid to late September.

I'm likely to be (well more than likely, certainly would be a better word) visiting Fred and Tracie to attend one of their world famous barbecues and apparently you are not too far away from them.

Now how could I visit so close without coming to see the original Bellagio babe (and Steve of course) and wouldn't it be great if Lawgirl1976 could be persuaded to be there complete with hubby to be.

When I've booked the flights and know more I'll email you with the details, although, no doubt to escape me, you'll probably be off to the Blau Colonial instead.

I was in Cayo Coco in April. The beach is narrower in front of the Blau, but is nice just the same. I would think there are good snorkeling spots in front of the Blau too. We were puttering around in front of the El Senador with our snorkels and found quite a few fish. Just look for the dark spots in the water, they should be coral, the fish are there. If that is not enought, you can take the glass bottom boat for $20 each. They take you out to the coral reef where you can snorkel for an hour or so. If you want to, you could walk to the far end of the beach to the right of the Blau and snorkel in front of the cliff (about a 35 min walk), lots of coral and fish there. Have fun.  :)

Hi, thanks for your reply bmnichol. Not sure where we are going yet still waiting for a real good deal, but the blau does have a good price, we are still searching for a place to go for our 35th annv.
Bellagio, if you come to Toronto  you can bet your sweet bippy we will be there. Just make sure I get lots of notice so I can book off work if its my weekend to work. Since Lawgirl lives in Toronto shouldn't be a problem, or even if you can get to Peterborough we could always put you up if need be, Steve would love to barbecue for you (he likes to do that, and I like it more).
I will let you's know where we decide to go for our special occassion.  :ham:

Hey Bonnie - remember I watched you snorkel off the coral at what was then the Maritim Costa Verde!!  Steve and I just wandered down from the beach bar to make sure you were OK!!

As I've said on your other thread I'll be letting you know full particulars once I've booked my flight tickets, but subject to Cuba Night being September 17th I should be arriving on the day before.

There has too be fish around the Blau ... there are such an abundance of fish on that strip I can't see how there isn't.  The hotel is beatiful from the outside.

The glass bottom boat for $20 is a must.
