Here are some pictures from a visit I made to the fishing village of Gibara, not too far from Holguin.

I can only describe it as a wonderful experience and probably the most enjoyable day of my entire holiday.  We had a delightful lunch in a casa, walked around the town, visited the Church and the Museum and spent some time at the Mirador at the top of Los Caneyes hill where lies the ruins of an old fortress.

Hey Wendy - I wanted to go all the way across don't worry but I think my friend was concerned that I might fall in so she called me back - repeatedly.

I think I'll be returning there next time, so if I do I'll make the complete crossing then.

BTW - I did climb the 458 steps at Loma de la Cruz this time.  I just had to do it - this was my third visit and I was determined to climb to the very top - and I did.

Hey Mr. B.

Great pictures.  I too had a great time in Gibara a year ago - one of my favorite memories in Cuba.  Such a beautiful town and missed by most tourists.
