I can't get an avatar to upload,its driving me nuts

I've got it hosted and I've suished it down but it still doesn't upload ....help meeee! pleease !

Find the url of your photo eg: http://www.7daysinparadise.com/forums/Avatars/stanleycup.jpg

Go to your profile, scroll down to "Avatar Image" click on "Select a different Avatar Image" , scroll down to the bottom of that window and paste in the address of where your photo is located. Hit set this URL. The pic should appear in the top left hand corner and then click on "Select this Avatar"

Don't forget to click on update profile on the bottom of the page.
