As you guys know, my son moved to Edmonton on Christmas day. Well just as we were leaving for the airport we found out the flight had been canceled and he was rescheduled for a later flight. Well he received a letter today telling him that to apologize for the inconvenience they have set up a credit for the full amount of his flight before taxes. I thought this was a very nice gesture on their part and quite a surprise.

 That is just amazing. I've heard good things about West Jet and hope to fly with them one day.
 
 Thank you for posting this. We often post about our negative experiences with tour operators/airlines etc, but we don't often give Kudos where kudos are due.

 It's THAT kind of service, and the publicity it generates, that will get them more passengers, even if they are a few dollars more.
 
 You don't mind paying, when you know you are being taken care of!

We have flown Westjet, and absolutely love it!!!
 
 They really aim to please, which is nice to hear in the days of negative airline reviews.

Our first time on Westjet was on our last trip to Cayo Ensenachos.
 It was an Air Transat vacation, flown by Westjet.
 I wrote them when we got home, we were so impressed by them.
 Great crew, both ways, professional , yet personable..and roomy.

While our daughter was doing her Bachelors in Thunder bay we were lucky in that Westjet flew to TB out of Hamilton ( before moving their hub to Toronto)... she did at least 5 round trips per year and my wife and I did a couple.
 
 Service was great... friendly people for sure...
