Tortola, BVI
« on: July 13, 2005, 03:23:00 PM »
Hmmmm ... thought I already had a thread on this, but can't find it.

First of all anyone have a good TA that will match Yourtraveltickets.com??? I've left numerous messages for Loretta at Holiday Market Travel with no response (and that's for over a month now).

Just went surfing for airfare for Toronto to St. Thomas (as we can ferry over to Tortola from there, cheaper than flying right in to Beef Island). Delta Airlines has a flight for $513 + 63 = $576 each !!!! Amazing, cheaper than it was 5 years ago when we went !

I almost booked it immediately, and then give it to hubby as a surprise anniversary present (actual date is Oct 7th) those who know me, know I did this 2 years ago for Christmas for him ... BUT I let him in on it, I felt it was his choice too seeing as he only has 4 days of vacation left now after all our other trips ... AND its to visit/stay with his sister down there as well ... I think I'll be crushed if he says no ... and he's not one to jump at a deal, he'll mull it over and over and over ...

Shine I had no idea that it was that cheap to fly there.  I don't know why but I always thought it was really expensive.

The board is set to only show topics from the past 45 days, if you want to see anything that goes back further you have to go into the settings and show view all topics.  That might be why you can't find your last thread?

Too much happening last evening for a discussion on this with DH ... I told him (in an email this morning), that since he didn't have an opinion I was just going to buy the tickets and tell him when and where to be   :)

Now as my original post asks: anyone know a good TA who would match yourtraveltickets.com???

Shine,

In May we printed off the pricing from Yourtraveltickets.com  and took it into Flight Centre.  They had no problem matching it, and we had no problems with the booking.

Thanks Heather, thats good to know BECAUSE the difference in pricing online between yourtraveltickets and flight centre was massive, like double.

THANK goodness I didn't book !

Just talked to my SIL (who's here now) ... she sold everything, quit her job and as of late September will land herself in COSTA RICA !! She's going to start all over again down there, so she told me to start looking for airfares THERE, we'll meet and have a weeklong adventure ... sounds cool, just more research now .

Costa Rica is wonderful. If we were suddenly independently wealthy we would seriously consider moving there too!

Hope you go and have a great time there.
