Has anyone flown with this airline?  I've read somewhere that we cannot pre-book our seats ...is this correct???  Any info would be appreciated!

To answer my own question: I've just heard from my TA ... apparently WestJet does not pre-book.  Air Transat will be using WestJet planes to fly from F'ton to Puerta Plata.  If there are any changes she's going to let me know!    :t:

Airborne:  We flew with CanJet to Cuba last year.  They fly similiar planes as WJ--  Boeing 737's.  We were able to prebook our seats and personally I would not bother again.  There are under 150 people on the plane in 3x3 seat configuration and people that we met that checked in after us got good seats on both the trip down and back. They did not prebook.  I think I would rather get to the airport early and save the money!

Hi Milli.  I had checked their website and found the layout of the planes (737-700)- it only holds 136 passengers. My concern is not getting a window seat lol, therefore, I'll be going to the airport early, I'm sure others will do the same. lol     :b:     :b:

Hi Airborne,

That is correct, you cannot prebook seats with WestJet.  All seats are equal in that there is no club class or first class.  I guess arriving early is your only guarantee to get you a window seat.

WRONG!!!
There is no Coach or Club class. All seats are First Class.
Well, tell yourself this anyway. Might as well start the vacation treating yourself.

I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not...

I flew Westjet on Sunday from Calgary to Toronto and was most impressed.

Their satellite TV in the seat in front of you  had live TV plus flight map.  I was even able to watch a LIVE Premiership football match between Manchester City and West Ham which kicked off at 4.05pm UK time on Sunday.

I thought that was totally unbelievable to watch a live event in the UK whilst flying across Canada.

Westjet get my vote everytime - leather seats, plenty of leg room and their excellent cabin crew.

Thanks everyone for your comments - much appreciated. Westjet is a first for me and by the sounds of things it won't be a regretable flight.  I've also heard that their flight crew is a "hoot".    :7:

They really are.  They perform all their tasks in a very professional way but with an omnipresent note of humour. You can expect to hear them sing and tell jokes while they carry on their duties but always in a very professional manner.

BigJohn, each time I flew WestJet I was informed by the staff that all classes were equal and yes, it does feel like first class all the way.  But on flights normally operated by charters (WJ is not a charter airline as you know) there are no class distinctions.
