Royal Plantation Named Jamaica's leading resort

ROYAL PLANTATION NAMED JAMAICA'S LEADING RESORT

 AT THE WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS

New York, NY, November 16, 2005 - Royal Plantation Ocho Rios, Jamaica, was named Jamaica's Leading Resort at the World Travel Awards, Sunday, November 13, 2005 in London, England. The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate the achievements in the global travel industry and are recognized by leading travel professionals as one of the best accolades that any travel product could receive.

Royal Plantation was victorious in this category against other Jamaican candidates including Half Moon, Montego Bay and The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort at Rose Hall. Gaining nomination for any category at the World Travel Awards is based on the previous year's voting, and voting is cast by thousands of travel gents in over 200 countries around the world.

"It was an honor to be nominated in Jamaica's Leading Resort category, and an even greater accomplishment to have come out the leader," stated Managing Director, Jaime Stewart. "This victory is a true testament to Royal Plantation's superior service and standards."

Royal Plantation is a stylish and luxurious property, the only one of its kind in the Caribbean. A British Colonial-inspired property with 74 all ocean-view suites and a private three-bedroom villa is set amongst exquisitely manicured tropical gardens, and opened its doors nearly half a century ago. Since then, it's been a place of refined elegance, a destination retreat for sophisticated members of society ranging from nobility and world leaders, to celebrities and executives. Recently remodeled, all suites boast stunning ocean views overlooking the property's two private beaches.

The attention to detail that Stewart so strongly believes in guarantees that all guests are treated like royalty. Whether a vacationer is relaxing on one of the two private beaches, under the attentive care of one of the hotel's beach butlers, reviving body and spirit at the Red Lane spa, or dining in one of the four world-class restaurants, every guest is guaranteed to experience the perfect holiday at Royal Plantation.

Quietly elegant and perched on two private white-sand beaches overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica is a stylish and luxurious British Colonial-inspired 74 ocean-view suite beach hideaway with a three-bedroom private villa. Built almost five decades ago with classic Colonial Caribbean style, this historically rich and recently renewed oceanfront property has recaptured the subdued grace of days gone by and installed a level of time-honored genuine Jamaican service that evokes its roots. A member of The Leading Small Hotels of The World and Leading Spas of the World, Royal Plantation is also the recipient of three American Academy of Hospitality Science Five Star Diamond Awards and winner of the Resort and Great Hotels Connoisseurs Choice Award for 2004, and is Green Globe Certified.

It's nice to see our favorite chain receiving such honourable acclaim, though I must say we find the Royal Plantation far too "shi shi" for our taste (or perhaps our budget...) lol

I guess we'll never know

I would love the chance to try it out just so that I could say I didn't like it.     :D

Seriously it sounds like a wonderful place, and I would love to go there one day.
